Welcome!

Meditation is a deeply healthy mind habit. And it happens in community.

I am a writer, a wife, a cat mom, a former journalist, a content marketer, and for the past 19 years I’ve been deeply studying Kadampa Buddhism. For the past decade, I’ve taught a weekly meditation class as a volunteer.

This newsletter is a place where I chart my thoughts and flashes of insight around the practice of meditation and how it intertwines with all that stuff of daily life.

By sharing these thoughts, I hope that it can connect with and encourage the growing habits of love and patience and wisdom in your mind too. And I hope you’ll comment. Maybe you’re a stream navigator too. Probably you are, so please write back your reflections in the comments.

The Stream is named after the painting above, given to me by a dear friend, Zoe. You can read this blog post from 2012 to learn more. She gave me the painting, then four years later, my husband and I bought a house in the woods that looks entirely like this! Okay, so maybe the stream is slightly to the side as opposed to under the house… for now at least. The stream continually reminds me of the nature of mind. It also teaches me on a daily basis how everything is impermanent and illusive. How nothing stays the same, even for a moment.
